Brachylophosaurus canadensis carcass (2008)

Digital painting / Photographic composite

The carcass of a young adult hadrosaur (Brachylophosaurus canadensis) rests on a sand bar in a flooded river following a storm 77 million years ago in what is now Montana. The above image was commissioned by the Houston Museum of Natural Science and the Judith River Foundation for the exhibit entitled "Dinosaur Mummy CSI: Cretaceous Science Investigation", which features the mummified remains of a Brachylophosaurus canadensis duckbilled dinosaur nicknamed "Leonardo".
